β The classic bridge tale in short, repetitive sentences
β TRIP-TRAP! chant in green cells β stamp your feet as you read!
β Grumpy troll lines in red cells β do your best troll voice
β Small β middle β BIG structure teaches size comparing
β Vocabulary board Β· comprehension Β· bridge game + retell planner
Trip-trap, trip-trap β this tale is 90% rhythm and repetition. Stamp feet (or drum the table) for every crossing: quiet taps for the small goat, medium stomps for the middle goat, THUNDEROUS stamps for the big goat. Loud/quiet, big/small β concepts through the body.
π£οΈ Two voices to play with
The goats' clever line ("Wait for my brother β he is bigger!") repeats twice, and the troll's roar ("WHO is trip-trapping over MY bridge?!") repeats three times. Assign parts: child does the troll, you do the goats β then swap.
π Talk it through
The troll gets a splash, not a squash β he swims off grumpily to find a new bridge. Afterwards, wonder together: why was the troll so grumpy? What would make the bridge nicer for everyone?

Bridge Game & Retell!
π₯Ύ The Trip-Trap Bridge Game β movement card:
Make a bridge (a line of cushions, a bench, tape on the floor)! π
Cross as the small goat (tiptoe π€«) Β· the middle goat (stomp π₯Ύ) Β· the BIG goat (THUNDER STAMPS π₯) One player is the troll: "WHO is trip-trapping over MY bridge?!"
Swap roles until everyone has been the troll!
π¨ Design a kinder bridge! Draw a bridge with something nice for the troll too β maybe a little house or a fishing spot?
π£οΈ Retell the story β draw or write one thing in each box. Stamp the rhythm as you go!
