Reading This Book

๐Ÿ’ก Why this story?

Goldilocks is secretly a concepts lesson wearing a story costume: hot/cold, big/small, hard/soft, and comparing three of everything. The repeated pattern โ€” try daddy's, try mummy's, try baby's โ€” lets children predict what comes next, and predicting is early reading.

๐ŸŽจ The colour code

Concept cells are coloured: red for too hot/too hard, blue for too cold/too soft, green for just right. Do the actions as you read: fan your mouth for hot ๐Ÿฅต, shiver for cold ๐Ÿฅถ, thumbs-up for just right ๐Ÿ‘Œ. Bodies remember what ears forget!

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Voices

Big deep voice for Daddy Bear, medium voice for Mummy Bear, tiny squeaky voice for Baby Bear. Children who won't "read" will often do the voices โ€” that's participation, celebrate it.

๐Ÿ’š Talk it through

Goldilocks goes into a house that isn't hers! The yes/no page ends with a gentle talk-about-it: how did the bears feel? What should Goldilocks have done? A ready-made little lesson on boundaries and sorry.

Just Right & Retell!

๐Ÿ‘Œ My "just right" hunt โ€” explore YOUR home like Goldilocks (but ask first! ๐Ÿ˜„). Find and draw or write:

Something too big for me
Something too small for me
Something JUST RIGHT
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Now retell the story โ€” draw or write one thing in each box. Use the bear voices!

๐ŸฐNext
