Paste a class list from SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or a spreadsheet. PawSteps creates a login
for each pupil. No IT request, no integration — it works with any school system that can export a CSV.
1. Set the class up once
Parents answer eight questions about one child. You are not
doing that thirty times. Answer it once for the group and every pupil you import starts
there — then fine-tune the two or three who need something different. Skip this entirely if you'd
rather; the default is a mixed Key Stage 2 class.
2. Paste your list
One pupil per line. A header row is optional — we spot it and skip it.
Only a name is required: if you leave the username or password blank we generate them
and show you the list to print.
Use first names and an initial, not full legal names. PawSteps never needs a pupil's
surname, date of birth, UPN or any SEND detail to work — so don't give it any. The less
personal data you upload, the less there is to lose. This is a deliberate design choice, and
it's what lets us tell parents we hold almost nothing.
