Where does food energy start?

Every food chain begins with the Sun ☀️. Green plants use sunlight to make their own food — we call them producers. Animals can’t make their own food, so they must eat. They are consumers.

🤔 A hedgehog eats slugs and beetles. So is a hedgehog a producer or a consumer?
