PawSteps is a UK-curriculum learning world for children ages 4โ11 โ and workbooks all the way to adult โ built to be genuinely kind to every kind of learner.
Most learning apps bolt accessibility on at the end. We started the other way round: PawSteps was designed SEN-first, then filled with the whole curriculum โ English, Maths, Science, wellbeing and more โ all taught through animals children actually love.
Read-aloud, dark mode, a dyslexia-friendly font, switch scanning, symbol support, visual schedules and adapted stories aren't extras here โ they run right through the site. That's rare, and it's the heart of what we do.
Rosie the galah, Gary the hedgehog, Elvis the chameleon and friends are real animals from Pets on the Green. Children learn alongside creatures they can genuinely meet โ and that real connection is what makes it stick.
PawSteps isn't designed in a boardroom. It's shaped by real children using it โ including neurodivergent learners โ whose feedback decides what stays, what changes, and what gets kinder.
PawSteps is built by a 19-year-old autistic creator. That's not a marketing line โ it's why the site works the way it does. Every "go at your own pace", every "there's no wrong answer", every calm, clutter-free screen comes from lived experience of what school can feel like when your brain works a little differently.
We build the thing we wish had existed โ for the children who learn like we do.
PawSteps is made by Pets on the Green (Ciera O'Rourke), an animal-assisted learning service in Warlingham, Surrey. Our animals visit schools, SEN units, care homes and clubs in person โ and PawSteps brings that same gentle, animal-led learning to any screen. More about Pets on the Green โ
