On the free tier, a child’s progress saves automatically on the device you’re using — so they’ll pick up right where they left off on that same iPad or laptop. With a paid plan, each child’s progress is kept in one place, following them from device to device.
Your subscription renews automatically on the same date each month (or each year for annual plans). If you joined on the 13th, your renewal date is always the 13th. You can cancel any time — here's exactly what happens:

Cancel before your renewal date (e.g. cancel on the 10th, before the 13th) — you're not charged again. You keep full access until the 13th, then it stops. You've paid for one month only.

Cancel after your renewal date (e.g. cancel on the 16th, after the 13th) — the next month has already renewed, so that month is paid. You keep full access until the following 13th, and you won't be charged again after that.
The simple rule: cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next payment. We don't charge part-months or exit fees — if you cancel mid-month you simply keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for. Payments are handled securely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
