PawSteps by Pets on the Green · Last updated 9 July 2026
PawSteps ("we", "us") is an online learning platform run by Pets on the Green (Ciera O'Rourke). This policy explains what personal data we handle and how, under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who is the data controller?
Pets on the Green is the data controller. Contact: ciera.rose@icloud.com.
What we collect
- Your child's learning activity (progress, scores, streaks, the virtual pet) is stored on your own device in your browser, not on our servers.
- Account details — if you create an account, your email and a securely hashed password are stored by our accounts provider (Supabase) so you can log in across devices.
- Payment details — if you subscribe, your name, email and card details are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Anonymous usage stats — we use Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-friendly, uses no cookies, and collects no personal data.
Children's data
PawSteps is intended to be set up and managed by a parent, carer or teacher. We ask that an adult creates any account. We do not knowingly collect more personal data from children than is needed to run the learning activities, and a child's progress stays on the device unless an adult chooses to create an account.
Our processors
- Stripe — payments
- Supabase — accounts & login
- Netlify — website hosting
- Plausible — cookieless analytics
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or object to processing. Because most learning data lives on your device, you can also clear it yourself at any time. To exercise your rights, email ciera.rose@icloud.com. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
This is a plain-English policy template for PawSteps. Please have it reviewed against your final setup before launch — it is guidance, not formal legal advice.
