While you wait

Something safe to do today — not in six months

Families and schools wait months for mental-health support. PawSteps is a safe, guided, animal-based wellbeing journey a parent, TA or therapist can start right now — the bridge, not a nice-to-have.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is PawSteps a clinical or medical service?

No. It's a self-help and educational resource that walks alongside professional support — not a replacement for a therapist, GP or vet. It's designed to be safe, gentle and honest.

Is it suitable for younger children and SEND?

Yes. Content is age-tiered from EYFS to KS4, with a 'Younger' mode, sensory-friendly options and accessibility controls (read-aloud, larger text, dyslexia-friendly font, low-arousal mode) on every page.

How do schools pay?

A whole-school site licence, by invoice against a purchase order — no card needed. MAT purchasing by invoice is available now; we are applying to the G-Cloud, CCS, YPO and ESPO frameworks.

Do we need to keep real animals?

No. The wellbeing journey and lessons use animal-themed activities you can run with no live animal at all. If you do keep one, the Safe & Ready packs cover doing it safely and kindly.

How is our data handled?

Data is GDPR-minded, with safeguarding-aware handling. Your wellbeing journal saves privately on your own device; if you create an account we store the details you give us (like your email) so we can set it up and contact you.

Is the animal advice reliable?

Guides are vet-informed and we lead with welfare-honest advice — what the animal actually needs, not what sells a pet.
